Aman Suria, Petaling Jaya
The brief was to design a comfortable environment for customers yet adhering to the gritty culture of street food. Crab Meet, located in Aman Suria was purposefully designed to reflect its positioning of affordable seafood cuisine. The space presents itself as an attractive alternative to the myriad of existing restaurants in the same area. We wanted to elevate the experience of modern street barbecue that spans across two shops with an open space in between. Both interior and open area are kept rustic and raw but still comfortable for the entire family.
In the open area, a Trishaw Grill pit was built, surrounded by casual seats that amount to an authentic ‘back alley’ dining experience. This feature was intentionally designed to bring back memories of delicious hawker food minus the flustering atmosphere, accentuated by nostalgic Chinese decorations and ornaments from yesteryears.
